Employment Agent: Working Beyond Challenges

The task of an employment agent is to search for jobs for jobfinders. But it’s not as simple as how it is stated. Not a lot of people are aware of how hard it is to be an agent.

Getting To Know The Applicant

When a jobhunter turns to the employment agent to inquire about available jobs, the agent provides him a comprehensive questionnaire to complete. The agent will take a peek on the application and then conduct an interview with the applicant.

Within the interview, the employment agent asks the applicant concerning the particular job he’s looking for, his skills, weaknesses and strengths, and his expected earnings. The agent must know the applicant’s personality and skills to present him to prospective employers.

The Employment Agent As A Sales Expert Too

After the interview comes a more difficult challenge for the agent. He searches and contacts companies with obtainable jobs that match with what the applicant is seeking. Within this part, his job would be to “sell” the applicant to the companies. This isn’t a trial and error task for the employment agent; he should really have the ability to sell the applicant. This is certainly not at all an easy task to do.

When the employer gets interested to offer a job to the applicant, the agent contacts the applicant to tackle everything he has to know. The agent must give ideas to the applicant regarding how to dress, some things to say, the way to behave, and so on. He instructs the candidate well, so he may make a good impression to the company.

The Make Or Break Part Of Working As An Employment Agent

Having the applicant invited for a job interview doesn’t guarantee that the prospective employer will hire him. The applicant should get a job offer and accept it. Should this happen, the agent then receives his commission.

The fact reveals that an employment agent’s job is really hard. Most of them work on a commission basis and for this, they could either make lots of money for all the jobs well done, or get wasted for all their unproductive efforts of looking for jobs for applicants.

A Conclusion On Working As An Employment Agent

Working as an employment agent is perhaps not for all. An aspiring agent must have exceptional interpersonal communication abilities and a high rate of patience. Success in this job depends highly on the combination of these two traits. Aspiring agents who don’t have this combination of traits will have a difficulty making it to the job.
