We all get tired of watching “chick flicks” alone and begging our male significant others to learn to dance. If we are able to talk a man into taking us to an opera it is usually riddled with yawns and sighs of boredom. So how can we make men more feminine? How can we help them to show their more sensitive sides?
A woman’s expectation may be too high. It might be too much to expect your man to drop the football and start wearing pink all in one day. You have to find a way to bring out his sensitive side while still protecting his brute side. Try to find one thing he is willing to do that still has some of his interests involved. Like a funny “chick flick”.
Meet him in the middle. Maybe you can’t stand the violent or crude movies that he likes anymore than he can stand the dramas. Maybe you don’t like to go hunting anymore than he likes to go dancing. If you both agree to do one of the others activities together, then doing the rest without each other doesn’t seem so bad.
You may regret wishful thinking. Would you still find him attractive if he cried all the time. Most women like the bad boy, not the completely feminine man. Try to remember that he does have a sensitive side, but we do want some restraint. Who is going to soothe who if you are both crying?
Men just can’t do it. Women can’t take it personally if a man finds it easier to laugh and swear then to cry. Some of this is in their genetic coding. Some men just can’t cry even if they want to. Do not misinterpret their lack of tears as insensitive.
Finally, most men are just as touched by emotions as we are, they just show it in different ways. Try to acknowledge his demonstration of emotions as a display of his sensitivity. This may help him to be more open about his feelings in the future.
