There is a well-known hypnotic technique called “Yes momentum”, which is widely used in a sales oriented business situation. Basically this is to ask a person few questions that are lead to YES as an answer.
This is a very powerful technique to break people’s defense mechanism, paralyze your rationality and get rid of their sales barriers. I will explain it by assuming that you are my customer as an example.
You must love your family, correct?
“Do you cherish their companion?”
“Do you wish them to be healthy always?”
“Wouldn’t it be great if we offer you a FREE consultation on how to be healthy always and prevent sickness for your family members?”
I believe all the of your answers for those questions are “Yes”, right? Have a look at the first question. Can you see that I used emotional words such as “love” and “family”? Those words normally trigger happy thoughts in your mind.
Believe me or not, your rationality will be paralyzed or reduced to the maximum as your emotions will take over your thoughts. That’s why most people end up buying on emotions and try to justify with logic or rationality. The following questions that I asked triggered you to unconsciously answer “YES” and brought you to a hypnotized state.
My last question was good enough to pre sell you and give me an opportunity to demonstrate what I’ve with me when I used the word “FREE”. Can you see how powerful is this tactic to guide you on how to brainwash someone?
Of course it is up to you to change this technique slightly to meet your business or personal needs. But no matter what you do with it, please use it for good and legitimate purpose only as it is a sin to misuse this type of persuasion techniques.
