Usually individuals get involved with jumping training because they want simply have a better vertical leap. Thousands of basketball, baseball, and football players go through their own training every year from one of the coaches, or their own personal trainer. Whatever the case may be in your situation, it’s important to understand everything there is to know about jumping. This all starts by understanding that you can jump higher from getting more strength from the core of your body.
Unfortunately you won’t be able to be the best simply by knowing it. In fact, if you don’t have the proper technique going in you won’t progress at all. The only way to truly maximize your efforts knows everything there is to know about the technique itself. This means understanding the positioning of your arms, legs, and feet, as well as what to do with that strength from your core. There are a lot of coaches out there who understand this, but they have a hard time actually teaching it. You will soon find out that this isn’t good news for you, and you’re subjecting yourself to serious injury.
It’s also important to understand that men and women have two different approaches. Since our bodies are different, that means our jumping training has to be different as well. If you watch long jumps or even high jumps during the Olympics you will notice that women jump and land in a more upright position. Men jumpers who watch this would believe that their knee position is completely wrong. However, the truth is it needs to be different, but at the same time coaches and trainers need to show the proper way of doing things.
What it comes down to is if you want to increase your vertical leaps, then you have to take a scientific approach. Instead of focusing in on only one or two areas, you have to learn the ins and outs of area part of your jumping training regimen. This means getting a better grasp of the anatomy, the safety, specific nutritional strategies, and several other areas. If you don’t acknowledge each of them in the beginning, you’ll soon find out that many mistakes will be made.
We understand that some athletes are just gifted, but you also need hard work to give yourself the best opportunity. Just look at all the legendary athletes out there, the one thing they have or had in common was they worked hard to be the best. Having this mind set ahead of time will give you a leg up on your competition. While natural talent is great, it’s those who fine tune it that become great. The skies the limit, but it all depends on you.
Remember, your jumping training should revolve around learning to get your strength from the core. After you have it yourself, it will be easy to pick out your competitors who don’t have the same type of training regimen you do. They will be trying to get their power from the legs and ankles instead of the torso.
In the end, always remember to warm-up and stretch. It’s probably the most important part of your regimen because it gets the juices flowing. Without it, you are more susceptible to injury and several setbacks shortly thereafter. We can think of any sport that doesn’t have some sort of warm-up. Uh, we don’t consider poker a sport, it’s a strategical game.
When you’re ready to get started, focus on the ab area. Do a few simple ab exercises and work on toning up your mid section. You’re going to need a healthy set of these in order to build real strength from the torso. It’s the key to building the best body you can through jumping training.
