How To Know If Your House Has Termite Infestation

No one wants termite infestations, but unfortunately everybody is at risk for them. Termites can invade any home; they do not choose places to infest. Some consider a termite invasion is just a pain in the neck, but termites can do much more harm than you can imagine. Termites are important in the circle of life, but they shouldn’t be attacking our homes. If you do not detect them before they begin doing big damage, they can ruin your entire house.

It is rather unfortunate that homeowners don’t even know they have termites, not until a lot of harm has already happened. Having a bit of knowledge about the beginning signs of termites will help save your house before the problem starts or intensifies. Termites can do a lot of damage to a place in a small time period. Hence, knowing what to look for would most likely help you stop termites before they can cause too much damage.

You should know that not all termite attacks are visible to the naked eye. A little more time and a more conditioned eye is required in order to discover these wood eating creatures. You can find them living and feeding off your walls, furniture, floors & other areas of the house that is made of wood. checking for mud holes and feces piles can help determine if you have termites.

Inspect areas where termites normally would go, to see if there are any signs of infestation at all. Check your garden and lawn area; dead leaves, tree stumps and mud holes in the soil. Also look for entranceways into your walls. See if your walls have cracks or spaces where they could go. Window sills, basement walls, moldings, and doorframes are also some places to check.

If any show signs of feeding activity, you should contact a professional pest control company or exterminator. If you have the proper equipment, you can even do it yourself. The point is stopping the termite problem before it even starts.
