Have you dreamed of jumping higher? Well dream no more because with the current jumping programs available you can teach yourself how to jump at least 8 inches higher. All you need is proper training.
The reason why I say proper training is because you need to follow an exact science that has been proven to work. Power is a combination of leg strength and speed. This means that you need to do plyometrics which work on speed.
The speed portion is all going to come from doing plyometrics. But don’t think that you can ignore the strength portion. You need to have good leg strength before even starting a jump program.
You don’t need to be squatting 300 pounds but you do need to be able to squat your body weight very comfortably. You need that strength so that your tendons and muscles will be able to withstand the impact from jumping.
This does not mean that the more you squat the higher you will be able to jump. Leg speed must be taken into consideration in the equation here. If it were only dependent on leg strength bodybuilders would be pro basketball players.
You can get really fast results if you train hard. But don’t be stupid and train with plyometrics everyday. You need to have time to rest or you will not see results.
Don’t ever do leg strengthening workouts on the same day that you do plyometrics. You need to train them separately and allow rest.
Jumping exercises are only to be done in 2 month spurts and only about 2 times in a year. So don’t think you can do them all year long.
